Beth (county auditor) presented a letter from the city seeking the county's assistance; she said under the joint powers agreement the county can run the city's special elections and that the city must provide funds to cover the cost. Beth said the county requires $10,000 for special elections under the existing agreement.
Commissioners voted to administer the June 10 special election, with the auditor's office running the ballot and managing logistics. The board approved a polling location at the Williston ARC meeting rooms, designated precincts 13, 21, 203, 301, 303, 401, 403 and 51 to vote there, set polling hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and approved the named inspectors and judges: inspectors Louis Ryerson and Cassie Peterson; judges Madrine Sandvold and Claire Polveg.
Commissioners said the city must provide funds in a timely manner so the county can complete preparations. The approval authorizes the auditor to proceed with necessary election arrangements under the county's joint powers agreement.
