Chilton County Schools board approves financial reports, personnel actions and authorizes pressure‑washing bid; moves to executive session

The Chilton County Schools Board approved several routine financial and personnel items and authorized a competitive bid for pressure‑washing services after learning the work will exceed a $40,000 procurement threshold. The board also voted to enter executive session to discuss a student disciplinary matter protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

The board’s chief school financial officer reported reconciled bank statements for January 2025 and said that, through the fourth month of the fiscal year, the district had received 35.87% of budgeted revenues and recorded expenditures at 32.9% of the budget. For January, accounts payable totaled $1,799,189.65 and gross payroll expenditures were $5,713,826.73. The general fund showed revenues over expenditures of $3,499,693.30 and an ending fund balance of $47,054,082.09, which the CFO said equates to about 6.91 months in reserve.
