Waco begins structural work on $12 million facility at Battle Creek airport

At the March 11 Airport Advisory Board meeting, Phil, airport staff, reported that Waco began structural work two weeks earlier on a new facility at the Battle Creek airport.
Phil said the project is a roughly $12,000,000, 45,000‑square‑foot building that will focus on the company’s “Juncker line,” and that structural steel work was already visible along South Airport Road. “Construction's underway … it's a $12,000,000 40 5 thousand square foot facility. It's gonna primarily focus on their Juncker line,” Phil said.
He told the board the site is outside the airport fence and should not affect taxiways or runways, although staff are coordinating with the developer and contractors to minimize utility‑connection impacts and equipment movements near access roads. Phil said the developer is on pace to finish by the end of the year or early next year and that the airport has not experienced issues to date.
Phil encouraged board members to view the construction from South Airport Road or from Columbia, noting the building sits near Waco’s existing hangar and is visible from nearby roads. No formal action was taken on the Waco project at the meeting.
