City Manager Zelnick reported the status of the 2025 road-paving program and staffing for the senior center at the March 10 council meeting.
Zelnick said the 2025 paving project will focus on the Eagle Heights subdivision and that the project is currently out for bid. He said staff will hold another meeting with residents in May after a pre-construction meeting with the contractor, and that the council is expected to consider awarding the bid on April 14. He said construction is scheduled to begin June 1.
Zelnick also announced the city hired Susan McCoy as the new senior center coordinator. He said McCoy is a former educator and replaces Carrie Kavanaugh, who left the senior center in late 2024. Zelnick noted the city has scheduled a budget meeting for the 2025–26 fiscal year and said council members would receive the proposed budget in advance of that meeting.
Why it matters: The Eagle Heights project affects neighborhood roads and residents’ schedules for construction; a bid award and pre-construction meeting will determine contractor selection and timing. The senior center coordinator hire affects programming and services for older residents.
Ending: Zelnick invited questions about his report; none were raised in the meeting record.
