She described purchasing five vacant lots from the land bank and improving an area that had been a dumping site and requested assistance obtaining boulders (noting they are expensive). Avarner said the group is not a city park but a neighborhood association improving purchased lots, and she asked the council to consider helping despite that distinction.
Avarner also announced a community meeting for the corridor action plan: "There is gonna be a meeting... March 18 from 6 to 7:30 at the New Life Family Church," and provided contact instructions for council offices to reach her for follow-up. No city funding decision or staff directive was recorded during the meeting on the caller's request.
