At the Jan. 7 council meeting staff reported that recruitment for open positions has moved into a full cycle and that the city has received six formal applications with roughly 25 additional expressions of interest.
A staff presenter said the full recruitment period will run about three weeks. “We currently have 6 actual applications that have been submitted. He's had conversations with approximately 25 others that have shown interest,” the presenter said.
Staff also reported they obtained a quote of $5,417 to replace the council microphones with gooseneck microphones, upgrade speakers, and disconnect units causing feedback. The presenter said the city planned to move forward with the replacement to resolve audio clarity problems in the council chambers.
The council heard scheduling updates: Parks Committee and Tree Board meetings were set for Jan. 14 (5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively), and the City & Rural Fire Board meeting was scheduled for Jan. 13 at 6:00 p.m. Staff said Sean will provide more information to council members about those meetings.
No formal ordinance or contract award was recorded in the transcript; staff presented the quote and indicated intent to proceed with the microphone replacement.
