The report lists a 100-point assessment tied to a violation described as “first-degree reckless endangerment causing injury,” but committee members asked for confirmation whether points were assessed in light of the owner’s cooperation.
Committee members discussed the demerit-point process and whether the committee should have a role in assigning or removing points. Staff reminded the committee that the system was designed with point assignment delegated to the chief or the chief’s designee to avoid political appearance; the committee said they may request a future discussion to review how points are applied.
Separately, the committee discussed a longstanding noise complaint at Forefathers Pub; staff said owners had not presented a remediation plan or applied for permit modifications and that the item remained in limbo until owners come forward for discussion.
Staff said they would confirm whether points were assessed in the 101 Pub incident and could return with that clarification at a future meeting.
