Commission approves Kirksey Commons replat to clear final step for approved mixed-use project

The commission unanimously approved Resolution No. 59-25 on March 17, authorizing a final plat that consolidates four parcels at 1501 and 1515 North Dixie Highway and 424 LA Kirksey (Fourteenth Street) into a single lot for the previously approved Kirksey Commons Planned Development.
Joseph (Joe) Verhoeven of Carlton Fields said the replat reflects previously approved PD boundaries and the alley abandonment the commission had authorized; he told commissioners the building permits are otherwise ready and that the plat approval and issuance of a PCN number are among the last items needed to move the project to construction and closeout. Staff confirmed the plat meets subdivision review and design standards and recommended approval.
Commissioners asked the applicant to provide a construction schedule to update neighboring Pleasant City stakeholders; the applicant agreed to check with the client and provide a timeline. The motion to adopt the plat carried unanimously.
