Township staff previews multiple upcoming contract awards: equipment rentals, facilities assessment and concrete repairs

Hampton Township officials on March 12 outlined several forthcoming procurement decisions that will affect building maintenance and public works operations.
Under community services, staff presented the township's annual construction equipment rental and construction tradesman program, a long-running arrangement that allows the township to contract local contractors for projects such as storm-sewer and sanitary-sewer line replacements, detention-pond maintenance and building maintenance work. Staff said the council authorized bids to be advertised in January and that nine bid specifications were mailed; bids are due March 18 and recommendations will be offered at a future regular meeting.
In a related request, staff asked to release a $25,000 budget allocation for a program-and-design contract with Architectural Innovations (program and design) to produce a facilities assessment. The consultant would work with an engineering subcontractor (H F Lens) to review locker rooms, restrooms, space utilization and ADA issues, develop program and schematic options and produce budgetary estimates. "Program and design is kind of the first step that you do in the design phase," the presenter said. Staff estimated a 2-to-3-month timeline for delivery after contract signature and said the product would be available in time to inform the 2026 budget process.
Separately, staff described an upcoming bid opening for concrete repairs at the community center and other municipal complex locations; bids are due March 21. The presenter said roughly 13 contractors had requested documents and two had completed site visits as of the meeting; staff said site visits are useful but do not receive extra weight in evaluation for this type of work.
Staff advised that award recommendations will be presented after the respective bid openings; the transcript records the briefings and questions but does not contain final award motions or recorded votes.
