Police Jury approves infrastructure agreements, grants, permits and condemns multiple properties; one case deferred

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury on March 6, 2025, approved a slate of resolutions, motions and administrative actions covering infrastructure agreements, grant applications, permits, bids and the condemnation of multiple properties; one condemnation hearing was deferred for 30 days to allow the property owner to submit required documentation.

The jury approved resolutions for public works agreements including the Belfield Ditch multi-road crossing replacement project (sale/purchase and servitude agreements), the East Calcasieu Parish Consolidated Water Works project (permanent utility servitude and temporary construction servitude agreements), and an act of sale for the Big Woods Starks Bridal replacement project. The panel also adopted a resolution to submit a grant application for the 2024 Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grant program.

The jury approved routine business items including the minutes of the Feb. 6, 2025 meeting; promulgation resolutions for election results in multiple fire protection and waterworks districts; approval of one new and two renewal liquor and beer permits plus ratification of one special-event permit; payment of current invoices; advertising for bids on waterline and road-extension projects; and acceptance of several procurement and construction items, including a recommendation to accept Southern Specialty Products for the uniform contract and resolutions accepting several projects as substantially complete.
