The Berkeley County Committee on Operations approved a change order to add resurfacing work for Foster Creek at Tanner Fore Plantation to the county—s 1¢ sales-tax resurfacing contract. Presenters said the work will be added to the existing contract for the 2024 1¢ sales-tax resurfacing project and that the change order is at no cost to the county.
The committee moved and seconded the change order and approved it by voice vote.
Why it matters: the 1¢ sales-tax resurfacing program finances local roadway repairs; adding additional segments to the contract changes contractor scope and the local capital program schedule, even when presented as a no-cost contract change.
The motion carried and will be reflected in committee minutes and contract records.
