Chief Barnes explained the change as a reliability measure: “Our goal is to take out all the battery backup equipment and replace it with a propane generator, a 10 kW propane generator,” he said, noting the generator will keep the site operational for longer outages caused by storms. Barnes told the council the town had already purchased the generator and that the license amendment carries an execution fee of $500 and an ongoing fee of $100 per year.
Council action: A council member moved to adopt Resolution No. 25-1770 and authorize the Town Manager to execute necessary documents; a second was made and the motion carried unanimously by raised hands. The chief was thanked for the work on the project.
