FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — At its June 26, 2025 meeting, the Broward County Planning Council’s executive director presented a proposed 2026 meeting schedule and announced administrative items including a new staff hire.
The executive director said the proposed 2026 schedule is included in the meeting backup and will be posted online “without objection” for applicants, agents and council members. The council also discussed combining the November and December meetings; the combined meeting will be either Dec. 4 or Dec. 11, 2025, pending a survey to be circulated to members and a confirmation at the council’s August meeting.
The council introduced David Ragsdale, who the executive director said started this week and joins the planning council staff from the South Florida Water Management District. The director and members welcomed Ragsdale during the meeting.
Staff also noted that Mayor Josh Levy had submitted an excused‑absence request for the meeting and that he had been reappointed to the planning council by Commissioner Davis at a recent commission meeting.
The council approved the consent agenda and, with no further planning council member comments, moved on to the public‑hearing agenda.
