The Port Washington Police and Fire Commission took several routine votes at its Aug. 11 meeting, approving prior meeting minutes and granting permission for a police officer’s secondary employment.
The commission approved minutes from the regular meeting on June 9, the regular meeting on July 14 and the special meeting on July 16. Commissioners voiced "Aye" on each motion; no roll-call tallies or named dissent were recorded in the meeting minutes presented at the session.
The commission also voted to approve secondary employment for Officer Dan Wolf, who works part time for the Fredonia Police Department. Chief Angus told commissioners Wolf’s primary schedule remains in Port Washington, that the department limits outside hours and requires officers to meet rest requirements before returning to duty, and that the city’s insurance and worker-compensation arrangements were acceptable in this case. A motion to approve the secondary employment was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; no commissioner voted in opposition on the record.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, which was also approved by voice vote.
No recorded votes were presented on contracts, ordinances or budgetary approvals at the Aug. 11 meeting.
