At the Aug. 21 Building and Code Safety Committee meeting, Director Nelson presented monthly financial and operational reports including animal‑control bills, permit revenues and adjudication listings.
The committee approved minutes from the June 12 meeting and then approved the bills for June and July by roll call. The minutes acceptance was moved by Alderman Cobbs and seconded by Alderman Marzak; the roll call recorded seven ayes and zero nays. The committee approved the June bills in the amount of $6,143.04 and the July bills in the amount of $7,084.72; both bills passed by roll call with affirmative votes from the attending aldermen.
Director Nelson summarized the animal‑control billing lines: the May animal‑control bill was reported in the meeting as $2,190; the June animal‑control billing lines included smaller entries (one line read $15.60 in the transcript) and other months listed amounts discussed by staff. Committee members noted that many animal records list owners, and the director said numerous animals were returned to owners.
The director presented permit reports: June showed 137 permits totaling $33,279.93; July showed 149 permits totaling $91,340.71. The committee received adjudication reports dated June 12 (10 pages) and July 17 (11 pages) and was told members can review the reports to see which properties appear on the lists.
No further formal actions were taken on adjudication at the meeting.
