Board approves corridor-plan contract, streetlight and alcohol-code changes; roll calls recorded

The Grandview Board of Aldermen voted to approve three ordinances during the regular session.

The board authorized a professional-services contract with Kimley‑Horn and Associates Inc. to update the M‑150 corridor plan and include an economic and market analysis. The city described the contract as necessary to inform future land-use and zoning decisions along the corridor. The bill (No. 7852) passed all readings and was adopted as Ordinance No. 7589; the roll-call votes recorded a unanimous Aye from the aldermen present (tally: 7–0).

The board also approved a request for Evergy to install an additional streetlight at the intersection of East Frontage Road and East 129th Street to address a dark intersection created when a MoDOT conversion project removed a previous light. That bill (No. 7853) passed and was adopted as Ordinance No. 7590; the roll-call vote was unanimous (tally: 7–0). The city will attach the new fixture to an existing utility pole in the public right-of-way.

Finally, the board amended Chapter 6 of the city code relating to alcoholic beverages (bill No. 7848). The measure passed final passage and was adopted as Ordinance No. 7591. The final roll-call vote recorded six Ayes and one No (Alderman Rousey voted No), 6–1.
