The Board of Aldermen approved a notice to schedule a closed session to be called by the mayor for the purpose of discussing legal actions, causes of action or litigation and confidential privileged communications between the city and its attorneys.
The notice (consent item g) sets the closed session for Tuesday, July 8 at City Hall, 1200 Main Street, to convene immediately following the regular session. Aldermen placed the notice on the consent agenda and approved it by roll call; those recorded voting in favor included Aldermen Randolph, Jones, Turnbaugh, Maloney and Rousey. The board identified the purpose of the closed meeting as allowed by law to discuss legal matters that may require a vote.
The motion to schedule the closed session was seconded and carried during the consent portion of the meeting; the board adjourned the public session at 7:40 p.m. and stated it would go into closed session.
