Board enacts ordinance to accept federal funds for Blue Ridge Boulevard project

The Grandview Board of Aldermen on July 8 unanimously approved an ordinance authorizing a supplemental agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to use federal transportation enhancement funds for the CPKC Blue Ridge Boulevard project.
The board placed Bill No. 7858 on first reading after a motion by Alderman Randolph and a second from Alderman Kendrick, moved it to a second reading, then advanced it to final passage. On final passage the board enacted the measure as Ordinance No. 7595.
At each reading aldermen voted aye and no members recorded opposition. The ordinance was described in the council packet as “an ordinance authorizing the execution of a transportation enhancements fund program supplemental agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for utilization of federal funds for the CPKC Blue Ridge Boulevard project.”
The measure will allow the city to accept and use federal funds through the state transportation commission for the Blue Ridge Boulevard work; the ordinance text and supplemental-agreement reference were included in the meeting materials. Mayor Leonard D. Jones Jr. and aldermen present executed the legislative steps required by city procedure during the July 8 meeting.
No amendments or conditions were stated on the record during the meeting. The board did not discuss details of project design, schedule, or budget line items during the public session; staff will carry out next steps under the approved agreement and any further contract approvals will return to the board as required.
Ordinance No. 7595 is effective according to the city’s normal procedural rules and will appear on the city’s register of ordinances for public review.
