Board approves consent agenda including fiber-optic contract, street-improvement final change order and floodplain ordinance amendment

The Village of Wheeling Board on Aug. 4, 2025 approved its consent agenda by roll call, enacting several routine administrative and capital items. Items approved included - a tag day permit for the Wheeling Firefighters Association to conduct a tag day event on Oct. 3, 2025; - a ninth amendment to the service agreement with Andy Franz Services Inc. for crossing guard services; - a contract with Utility Dynamics Corp. for fiber-optic cable to Fire Station 42 in the amount of $432,770 (fiscal year 2025); - change order number 1 (final) to the contract with Builders Paving LLC for the 2025 motor fuel tax (MFT) street improvement program, reflecting a net reduction of $185,596.22 to a final contract amount of $1,791,027.66; - an ordinance amending Title 22 (floodplain regulations) of the municipal code; and - a resolution authorizing the village manager to execute a professional services contract with George Washington Street Partners for leadership coaching services in an amount not to exceed $29,000. Trustees moved to approve the consent agenda as read; the roll call recorded affirmative votes. Staff noted that items on the consent agenda are considered routine and will be enacted by one motion unless removed for separate discussion.
