Cunningham Township trustees approved routine bills and two resolutions at their July 21 meeting, after receiving a monthly financial report that showed total expenditures of $429,378.47 and a settlement payout of $226,722.91 confirmed by the board.
Township staff reported that in the typical June accounting period the town fund had expenditures of $91,403.52 and the general assistance fund had expenditures of $337,975.05, for total expenditures of $429,378.47. Staff said the payout to Presence was part of a settlement previously confirmed by the township. Copies of the town bills were in the board packet.
The board first approved the minutes of the April 14, 2025 meeting (motion moved by Mary Alice and seconded by Jaya) by roll call. Trustees then moved to approve the town fund and general assistance fund bills together (motion moved by Jaya and seconded by Mary Alice); the motion passed by roll call with all recorded trustees voting yes (Trustee Wu, Trustee Evans, Trustee Colasetti, Trustee Bishop, Trustee Wilkin).
The board adopted resolution T2025-07-009 authorizing the supervisor to execute a lease amendment with Beckett Trust for township office space (moved by Jaya, seconded by Mary Alice). The trustees approved resolution T2025-07-010 authorizing the supervisor to sign a memorandum of understanding with Roadway Inn Urbana for hotel rooms for emergency housing (moved by Grace, seconded by Jaya). Both resolutions passed on roll call with recorded yes votes from the trustees present.
The board also moved into and returned from closed session under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5) (property matters). On return to open session trustees reconvened and completed the remaining agenda items. The meeting adjourned after trustees approved the listed resolutions.
