The Kirksville City Council voted to appoint Crystal Daniels to serve as the citys employer representative to the Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS), satisfying the state statutory annual appointment requirement. City Manager Mary Maycomb said Don Crosby, the prior HR director, had served as the citys LAGERS representative and that the city customarily appoints the HR director to the position because the role requires specific qualifications. Daniels is new to the city; Maycomb said the appointment follows established practice and meets the Revised Missouri Statute requirements. The council approved the appointment by voice vote.
