Raymore renews Operation Greenlight agreement for seven signals at $11,200

The Raymore City Council unanimously approved a two-year cooperative agreement Sept. 8 with the Mid-America Regional Council’s Operation Greenlight program to maintain seven traffic signals at a cost not to exceed $11,200. Finance staff member Williams presented the agreement and staff recommended continued participation. Public works staff member Solberg described the program’s services: remote signal-timing adjustments, 24/7 monitoring and the ability to remotely address software issues and signal timing during peak events. Solberg gave a specific example, saying remote adjustments helped when “traffic was backing up pretty bad when Nuuly was leaving.” Council member Baker asked for clarification on what the service provides for the $5,600-per-year figure; Solberg said it allows MARC to remotely adjust timing, monitor signal status, and notify the city if a signal goes into flash mode. Council member Baker moved to approve the cooperative agreement (Bill 3985); Barber seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
