Urbana staff to revisit ADA transition plan; monthly coordination with ADA coordinator planned

Assistant staff said they will post the plan to the Office of Human Rights and Equity page and start monthly coordination meetings with ADA coordinator Carla Boyd to align the transition plan with Public Works and BPAC priorities. Staff said the first steps are to inventory completed actions, identify outstanding items, and align project prioritization with demographic and usage data.
Why it matters: An updated ADA transition plan helps the city identify sidewalks, ramps and crossings that most urgently need upgrades, guides grant applications and aligns accessibility work across departments.
Staff invited BPAC to collaborate with the Human Rights Commission and noted the plan will be used to prioritize areas for potential funding and future projects.
