RPC appoints Herbert Burnett as community member representative

The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission approved the appointment of Herbert Burnett as a community member representative.

Staff said a nominating committee solicited public applications and interviewed candidates before recommending Burnett for the position. A motion to appoint Burnett was made, seconded and carried on a voice vote with commissioners responding “Aye.”

Burnett was introduced at the meeting and commissioners welcomed him; no objections or roll‑call vote were recorded in the minutes. The commission did not enumerate a term length or specific committee assignment at the meeting; staff indicated Burnett will serve as the second community member on the commission.
