County public-works staff reported progress on two infrastructure projects during departmental reports.
Old 100 slide: Staff said the contractor has milled off the asphalt and the site is being graded, with adjacent property owners cooperating to accept excess materials. County staff said the work is progressing well and estimated the road could be reopened within about 10 days from the update.
Construction technique: Staff said they will place geogrid on the surface before rock surfacing and that the geogrid will be adjacent to, but not the same material as, the new road base. The county confirmed it will place new road base before removing additional debris.
Spring Creek: Staff said delivery of rented equipment is complete and a crew will begin work the following Monday. The county described safety meetings with lead crew members and said it had ordered a piece of equipment from Fabric (described as a purchase) while also renting a large excavator with a grapple to remove debris from the creek.
Why it matters: The Old 100 repair will restore a county road that had been closed by a slide; Spring Creek cleanup aims to address creek debris and safety concerns.
No formal commission action was required during the reports; staff provided timelines and construction details.
