Sherwood arts commission to raise Art Center fees; roundabout artwork and bridge medallions moving forward

The same speaker said the commission expects the Oregon Street roundabout artwork to be installed before school if permits and county approvals align, but county requirements include indemnification: "They pretty much want to be indemnified in the event that somebody runs and drives into the roundabout and damages our art, but the county isn't responsible for it," the councilor said.
Commissioners also reviewed bridge medallion designs, noting 18- and 24-inch medallion sizes, and shared photos of concrete wall molding that has been poured and cured; the speaker said the work looks good and will receive final sealants and protection as needed. The council also passed a resolution naming a hall after Mara Bowie and a sign has been installed, the speaker said.
