The Sherwood Planning Commission voted to continue the public hearing on the city's annexation policy application (case LU2024-018PA) to June 24, 2025, after the applicant, the City of Sherwood, asked for a continuance.
Staff told the commission that "the applicant, which is the city of Sherwood, has requested a continuance of this hearing to Tuesday, 06/24/2025," and that public testimony already submitted had been entered into the record to be considered at the continued hearing. When asked if staff had anything further, a staff member replied, "Nothing at this time, commissioners." The motion to continue was moved and seconded; after a voice vote in which commissioners responded "Aye," the chair declared, "Motion carries."
The continuance pauses formal consideration of proposed annexation policies so staff and commissioners can address the record and any outstanding issues before resuming deliberations. The hearing officer noted that testimony submitted so far will remain part of the record and "will be addressed as part of the public hearing on this application, whether that hearing is conducted tonight or at a later date."
Commissioners did not conduct further discussion on the substance of the annexation policies at the meeting; the formal action recorded was to continue the hearing to the June 24, 2025 meeting, at which the commission will again take up LU2024-018PA.
