Board tables Dogwood Animal Shelter contract after attorney requests more time to review edits

City Attorney Cole Bradbury asked the Board of Aldermen to table the second reading of an ordinance authorizing the mayor to execute a contract with Dogwood Animal Shelter. "Yesterday, we got some edits to the contract, nothing major, but the Dogwood's attorney finally got back to us with edits to the agreement. We need a little bit of time to work through those," Bradbury said.
The board approved a motion to table the ordinance so staff and the shelter’s counsel can resolve outstanding contract edits. No changes to the proposed contract were adopted at Thursday’s meeting. City staff said they will bring the revised agreement back to the board at a future meeting once the parties complete the review process.
