Resident urges Johnson County to bring resolution for expanded language access to ballots

"So we would like to have expanded language access to the ballots, so possibly putting them out in a different language, such as Spanish, which 12.9% of the county speaks," Woolworth said. She asked the board to place a resolution on a future agenda for discussion; she said it may be too late for the current election cycle and suggested discussion for next year.
Woolworth characterized the request as an inclusion measure to expand participation. The board did not take an action on Sept. 4; commissioners or staff did not announce a follow-up date during the meeting. The request was recorded in the public-comment record for the Sept. 4 meeting.
