Village board approves PUD amendment, site plan for 124-unit senior building in Town Center

The Village of North Aurora Village Board approved an amendment to the Town Center planned unit development (PUD) and the site plan for the Clover Senior Development, a 124-unit senior housing building to be sited on the easternmost roughly 5.5 acres north of Orchard Gateway Boulevard.

Town-center planning staff said the ordinance amendment would reestablish a residential component for the Town Center area and allow the Clover project to move forward under the revised PUD rules. Staff member Nathan introduced the proposal and described the project as a 55-and-up building with amenities; he said the building would occupy the eastern portion of the parcel and include 124 units.

The board voted on the ordinance amendment and the site plan during new business. A roll-call vote followed the motion; the trustees recorded affirmative votes for the measure, and the board declared the motion approved.

Trustees asked no additional questions on the record during the public discussion of the PUD amendment and site plan. The ordinance and site plan will permit the developer to proceed to permitting and construction steps under the amended Town Center PUD provisions.

The board took the vote as a discrete agenda item during its Jan. 6 meeting; no separate amendments to the site plan were recorded during the discussion. The staff presentation and the board’s vote were the only items on the record pertaining to this development at the meeting.
