The Addison School District 4 Board of Education on May 21 approved the employment contract for Leticia Gutierrez to serve as assistant director of biliteracy.
Director Crystal Jimenez told the board that, from a pool of seven applicants and three interviewees, Leticia Gutierrez emerged as the standout candidate. Jimenez said Gutierrez presented a detailed 90‑day plan focused on teacher leadership and stakeholder relationships and holds two master’s degrees, endorsements including bilingual education and gifted education, and experience as an EL resource teacher at Lincoln.
Jimenez recommended board approval of the administrator employment contract. The board moved and seconded the hiring recommendation and approved it by recorded roll call. The board welcomed Gutierrez to the district at the conclusion of the vote.
The vote authorizes the district to execute Gutierrez’s administrator contract and proceed with onboarding. Jimenez said Gutierrez will be present at upcoming family and bilingual parent advisory events and will present at a bilingual parent summit.
This action is a formal personnel appointment; the contract was approved as presented and the board recorded the vote.
