The Village of Gurnee approved a police department request to waive bidding and award upfitting work to PDS/Chicago Parts and Sound at a cost of $169,617.16 for five patrol squads, one K‑9 squad and a community service officer pickup. Staff said the department previously transitioned to PDS for squad upfitting and has been satisfied with the work. The vehicles include marked and unmarked Ford Explorers and Tahoes, a Tahoe for the K‑9 unit and a Silverado for the CSO pickup. Trustee Balmes moved the award and Trustee Garner seconded; the roll call recorded six aye votes and the motion carried. Staff said the procurement complied with purchasing policy through use of the vendor the department has used under previous cooperative purchasing arrangements.
