Hanover Park wastewater plant, operator honored by Fox Valley Operators Association

Village leaders recognized the Hannibal Park Wastewater Treatment Plant and longtime operator Lance Winterland during the Sept. 4 meeting after the Fox Valley Operators Association named Winterland operator of the year and the plant plant of the year.
Mayor and trustees brought staff forward to receive public recognition. The mayor noted Winterland’s 29 years with the village and called the awards “very prestigious” and a reflection of “the ongoing professionalism and professional development of your staff.” He said the plant operates 24 hours a day and praised the team for maintaining “the highest standards in wastewater treatment.”
No policy action resulted from the recognition. The awards were presented as a commendation to plant staff for operational excellence and long service.
