The Village of Gurnee authorized a professional services agreement with GFT for design engineering of a missing ADA‑compliant sidewalk segment on Granville Avenue, between Waveland and Boulevard View, at a cost of $73,000. Village engineering staff noted the project was identified by the pedestrian blue‑ribbon commission as a priority to improve pedestrian mobility and that the design work will allow the village to include construction in a future capital budget. Trustee Garner moved the contract; Trustee Thorsenson seconded. Roll call showed six aye votes and the motion carried. The board was told GFT participated in the village’s road design RFQ process and produced a competitive proposal for the sidewalk designs. Staff said the design phase will prepare plans for future construction funding and bidding.
