Staff explained the business had previously appeared before the board regarding three different liquor-related approvals. The Class A license is the principal on‑premises liquor license for the establishment; the supplemental entertainment Class B license allows amplified or live entertainment and, per the board’s action, will be issued on a temporary, conditional basis for 60 days so staff and the board can monitor noise and any complaints. The restaurant’s outdoor‑eating supplemental license does not require board approval and will proceed through the liquor commissioner.
Steve, the presenting staff member, said the board had discussed concerns about potential noise from live bands or DJs at earlier meetings; the board’s previous direction was to allow a temporary, conditional Class B for 60 days and then review the matter. Under the temporary approval discussed at the meeting, staff indicated live entertainment could be permitted until 1 a.m. during the initial period, though the board may revisit and change hours if complaints arise.
Trustees moved and seconded the ordinance and the temporary entertainment approval and approved both items by roll call. A follow‑up review will return to the board after 60 days to consider whether to grant a permanent supplemental entertainment license; staff will report any noise complaints and other operational issues observed during the initial period.
