Outreach highlights discussed at the meeting included a larger National Night Out event that drew partners from social services, nonprofit groups, multiple law-enforcement agencies, fire services and city departments. Meeting speakers said a QR code used at outreach events had at least one pass-through that linked to the city web page, though officials said that could have been a test and contact data is being routed to human resources for follow-up where appropriate.
The department also said it will offer security assessments to local brick-and-mortar businesses. The representative asked businesses to signal interest at neighborhood or chamber events; the department plans to "socialize" the offering at routine monthly meetings and other established gatherings so it can coordinate with existing business events.
Board members and police leadership said the department's more visible presence and direct community activity were among the reasons city leadership cited for pausing the PCEB. No budget figures, personnel lists or formal memoranda were presented during the discussion.
