Advisory commission asks city staff to confirm reported $150,000 in new business-license revenue

Members of the Old Webster Special Business District Advisory Commission on an August meeting asked city staff to confirm whether a council-reported increase in city business-license revenue would change the district's expected receipts. The question arose after a commissioner said a council member reported an extra $150,000 in business-license revenue and asked whether that amount is already included in the district's budget figures. Scott, a city staff member who attended the meeting, said he did not have the numbers at hand and offered to check once Gregory returns from vacation. "I don't have the answer for that, but I can find that," Scott said. Commissioners asked Scott to report back to the commission when he has the information. No formal action was taken at the meeting; the issue remains a staff follow-up. Commissioners also noted other recently reported one-time revenue items at the council level, including an unspecified additional amount connected to pool receipts. The commission approved the minutes from the previous meeting at the start of the session. A motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded and carried by voice vote.
