"It'd be nice to have an informational sheet with a variety of ways you can leave the leaves," one commissioner said.
A volunteer-supported program was discussed: a commissioner proposed contacting local Eagle Scouts to install leaf-containment devices for homeowners willing to pay a small fee as a fundraiser. Commissioners cautioned that adding composting or installation services could confuse the message of leaf retention and recommended keeping leaf messaging focused and coordinated with city staff. The commission agreed that Corinne, Teresa and one other volunteer would form the subcommittee and report back at the next meeting.
No formal policy or ordinance was adopted; commissioners requested staff support to gather existing leaf-management documents and to prepare outreach materials for the next meeting.
