Yvonne Staggerpi, the parks department liaison, reported that with Carrie's help the commission had created and ordered a large site sign for a prairie garden and said the cost was "about $1,200, I think." Commissioners discussed placement options (Lockwood Park and other sites) and asked staff to confirm exact locations.
Members discussed budgeting and encumbrance: because some signage can be purchased through department budgets while others require vendor encumbrance, commissioners asked staff to confirm whether ordering before the end of the fiscal period would secure funds. Staggerpi said she believed the order could be completed and that she would follow up with public-works and other departments for in-house signage that depends on different procurement flows.
The commission also discussed smaller interpretive signs with QR codes linking to city webpages and possible unified branding to include the Webster Groves name and logo. No formal contract or final placements were approved in the meeting; commissioners asked staff to confirm procurement steps and installation plans before finalizing purchases.
