The Webster Groves City Council appointed Ian Van Dam to the Old Orchard Special Business District Advisory Commission and filled other vacancies on several local advisory bodies.
During the board and commission interviews, Ian Van Dam introduced himself to the council: “My name is Ian Van Dam. I am a business owner and operator down in the Albuquerque business district, with Field Theory. I've been involved down there since 2016,” he said. The council unanimously agreed to appoint him to the Old Orchard advisory commission where three vacancies existed.
The council also appointed Debbie George to the Green Space Advisory Commission and Andrea Lacey to the Sustainability Commission to fill recently vacated seats. Council members reappointed Sherry Taylor and Leanne Wa to another term on the library board.
No formal roll‑call votes were recorded in the meeting minutes for those appointments; the mayor confirmed consensus on each selection. The council clerk will process the appointments and notify appointees of their terms and start dates.
