Commissioners approve county maintenance contracts and accept road chip-seal work; final payments ordered

Albany County commissioners approved two routine operations items: a two‑year HVAC maintenance agreement with Long Technologies Inc. for the Albany County Courthouse and final acceptance of the county pavement chip-seal project, authorizing release of the contract’s retainage.
Jennifer, county staff, said the county solicited bids for HVAC services and received a single responsive proposal from Long Technologies, the current provider. The board approved the contract for ongoing maintenance and controls work for the courthouse.
The board also accepted completion of the county’s pavement chip-seal work performed by Intermountain Slurry Seal Inc. County staff said the work included a fog seal to stabilize chips and new edge-line striping on the road to Lake Hattie (referred to in the meeting). The final contract amount was $2,449,938.40, with a remaining balance/retainage of $122,496.92 to be advertised for final payment per standard procedure.
Both items passed by voice vote. County staff said they were satisfied with contractor performance and will proceed with final contract closeout steps.
