The policy committee of the whole approved revisions to policy IFBGA, the district’s student computer and internet-use policy, at its Aug. 27 meeting. The committee voted to change certain mandatory verbs ("shall") to permissive language ("may") in places and to add the word "skills" after "safety" in the policy’s language. A board member described the change as a refinement of the district’s approach to digital-safety instruction rather than a rollback of protections. Mister Piazza moved the motion; Mister Duncan seconded. The motion carried after a brief discussion and a committee vote.
