The Bossier Parish School Board approved a final revised operating budget for fiscal year 2024-25 during its Aug. 21 regular meeting after a unanimous committee recommendation. The finance committee, chaired by Logan McConathy, recommended board approval; the motion on the committee floor was made by Board Member Eric Falting and seconded by Board Member Sam Darby. The full board voted to approve the revision unanimously. The finance committee report said the committee vote in committee was unanimous (11-0) and that the matter was forwarded for board action. Nisha Bamberg, chief financial officer, updated the board on the May 2025 financial statements and provided a finance and payroll update. Bamberg told the board that employees will receive their pay raises on their next paycheck, and the back-to-school check will also be issued. The board chair asked for a clarification during the meeting about which fiscal year was referenced in committee; staff corrected that the approval concerned the final revised budget for fiscal year 2024-25. No additional amendments were proposed on the board floor before the vote.
