Finance staff told the Bossier Parish Schools Finance Committee on Aug. 21 that employees will see board-approved pay raises and back-to-school supplemental payments on the next payroll date, Aug. 25.
"Our employees will see the effect of the board's vote next week on their paychecks," Finance staff member Nisneesh Bamberg said. Bamberg confirmed the district processed the supplemental back-to-school payments as a separate deposit so employees would see both amounts and not be confused about their usual monthly pay: "We did process them as two separate checks because we want them to see both deposits and not get confused about what their monthly amount will be."
The committee categorized this item as a discussion-only update; there was no committee vote on payroll processing during the meeting. Bamberg said finance staff are finalizing system rollovers and verification to ensure the new pay rates and supplemental payments post correctly.
