USD 443 approved replacing the HVAC building controls at Dodge City Middle School during the Sept. 8, 2025 meeting. District staff explained the existing control programming and, in places, hardware has deteriorated; replacing the control system will improve comfort, reduce maintenance downtime and allow on- and off-site control of systems to increase efficiency.
The district recommended using Train (through the OMNIA Partners cooperative purchasing agreement). The board approved issuing a purchase order in the amount of $93,645 to Train to replace the HVAC building controls, to be paid from capital outlay funds. Staff noted a minor discrepancy in packet materials that listed $96,645 in one location but confirmed $93,645 is the correct project amount and asked the board to approve the $93,645 figure.
A board member moved to approve the item and the board voted 4–0 to approve the contract and the associated purchase order. District maintenance and business services staff will coordinate contract execution and any required board-counsel review before final signature.
