Raif Jordan was sworn in as the Bossier Parish School Board member for District 7 during the board’s Aug. 7 regular session at the Bick. President Newman introduced the swearing-in and Judge Jeff Cox administered the oath.
Jordan, introduced as the newly appointed District 7 member, told the board he is “looking forward to getting started with the school board” and said he is a lifelong Bossier City resident who attended the parish schools. He mentioned his wife, Dee Jordan, who retired in 2021 after 30 years at Plantation Park, and said his son, Connor Jordan, began teaching fifth-grade math at Meadowview Elementary the same day.
The swearing-in was ceremonial and no vote was recorded during the segment. Board leadership and Superintendent Roland offered brief welcome remarks after the oath.
The ceremony occurred at the start of the board’s Aug. 7 agenda; Jordan’s remarks were limited to personal background and an expression of readiness to serve. No additional assignments or formal committee placements were made on the record during this session.
