The Livingston Parish School Board on Aug. 20 approved a change order to add remote LED lighting controls to the Walker High School baseball and softball field project.
Jesse Simpson of Simpson Sports Engineering presented Change Order No. 1 for remote LED lighting controls, saying the change moves the project cost from $2,384,000 to $2,406,000 and "adds no additional days to the work scope." Simpson said the control upgrade will give coaches more control over the lights.
Board member Jeff Cox moved approval; Caitlin Grama seconded. The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.
The change order amount is $22,000; the board did not discuss additional funding sources at the meeting, indicating the change was handled within the project budget authority already approved. Staff will proceed with the revised scope under the existing contract.
