At a meeting of the Acadia Parish School Board’s Budget and Finance Committee, district finance staff reported early-year revenue and expenditure figures for the general fund and special revenue funds. A staff presenter identified total general fund revenue collections to date as $5,594,029.19, representing 6.16% of the budget, and total expenditures of $6,829,731.11, representing 7.46% of the budget. The presenter noted this pattern is normal at the beginning of the fiscal year and said, “This is normal at this particular time of the year to actually run a deficit until we go further along in the year.” No board action was recorded; the item was a review of current year-to-date finances. Board members thanked the presenter and had no further questions at the time the report was given.
