Community partners, realtors and churches donate thousands of supplies for Topeka students

Miss Lindsey described a friendly competition among local real estate brokerages to collect supplies: "Coldwell Banker, American Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Bridal Realty, Berkshire Hathaway, and Top City Realty brought us 1,600 school supplies, backpacks, and down to pencils." She said the winner received a barbecue lunch and that the campaign was intended to make supply-gathering "fun" while supporting families.
Superintendent and board members thanked volunteers, churches and community organizations behind the United for a Successful School Year event and the Step the Bus and other local distribution efforts. No formal board action was required; the items were presented as school highlights and community recognition.
