Sam Houston High School softball honored for 2025 LHSAA Division 1 non-select state title

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Ways and Means Committee presented a certificate Thursday, June 5, to Beth Domaine, head coach of the Sam Houston High School softball team, in recognition of the team’s 2025 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division 1 non-select state championship.
Juror Quinn introduced the recognition and praised both the team’s athletic performance and the school’s academic standing, thanking Shannon Folks and her staff for creating an environment that produced high scholastic results.
"First of all, go Broncos," Juror Quinn said as he opened remarks. He later read the certificate: "This is to Beth Domaine, head coach of Sam Houston High School softball team for the victorious season and winning the 20 25 Louisiana High School Athletic Association division 1 non select state softball championship." Quinn also noted that Sam Houston is an A-rated school and thanked Principal Shannon Folks for her work.
Quinn highlighted Beth Domaine's long record in the sport during his remarks and recognized the seniors who joined the team for the photo. The committee’s presentation was ceremonial and no formal vote or policy action took place during the item.
Jurors and school leaders said the recognition acknowledges both athletic success and academic leadership at Sam Houston High School.
